Those can get annoying to see and work with cross-platform. files on external hard drives that are only seen by Windows. If you don't eject the Time Machine drive properly, it may be cranky when you plug it in next. Doesn't necessarily remove everything, but it's how you remove programs. If you don't want the program, you drag it into the trash and that's it. Random things I discovered along the way: The best turtlenecks are made by Issey Miyake. I think Magic Trackpads are the way to go, I use one at my desk.

I've dabbled in Mac from here and there and know enough to be partially functional, but that's about it. Be gentle.I've been primarily a Wintel guy since oh, 1986. Where do you get the best black turtlenecks?.What, if anything, should be topping the 'buy this now' list to go with it?.What's the best way to dive into the thing?.I may run it headless and just use LogMeIn or some similar remote access program, or I may use it as a second input to one of my existing computer rigs. I also haven't figured out what display I'm going to use. Figure I'll grab the Apple wireless keyboard and either the magic trackpad or one of the wireless mice. I'm not sure if the refurb machines come with a mouse/keyboard. The use could definitely expand, as I'm pondering grabbing a MacBook of some variant to replace my wicked old hacking laptop (I do InfoSec for a living). I'm also planning on doing some light iOS coding and then just learning the damn platform. I already have all my MP3s in iTunes, so I'll probably just export my library to that drive to start the migration. Figure I'll hook up a 3+TB USB3.0 drive and use Handbrake/MetaX to transcode + tag my existing video library. I'm planning on using it primarily for media, offloading iTunes from my gaming rig. Figured it was time, being as there are 2 iPhones, 1 (soon to be 2) iPads, and 2 AppleTVs already in my apartment. I've finally gone fully darkside and purchased my first Mac.I snagged one of the refurb Minis from the Apple Store.
